YOON matcha

A matcha latte recipe is more than just a drink—it’s a ritual, a moment of calm in your busy day. Whether you’re looking for a morning boost or an afternoon pick-me-up, a homemade matcha latte is the perfect way to indulge while nourishing your body. With YOON Matcha, you get the finest, high-quality matcha straight from Japan, ensuring a smooth, vibrant, and delicious experience every time.

Ready to master the art of the best matcha latte? Let’s get started.

Step 1: Heat the water

heat the water to 70-80°C (158-176°F). Using water that’s too hot can make the matcha taste bitter, so it's best to keep it at this optimal range. If you don’t have a thermometer, let boiled water sit for about a minute before using.

Step 2: Sift Your Matcha

Take 2-3g of YOON Matcha (about 1-2 teaspoon) and sift it into a matcha bowl (or any small bowl). Sifting helps remove any clumps, making it easier to whisk into a smooth, frothy consistency.

Step 3: Whisk Like a Pro

Add a small amount of warm water to your matcha—just enough to create a paste. Then, gradually add the remaining water and whisk in a W-motion using a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen). Keep whisking until you achieve a smooth, foamy layer.

Step 4: Prepare Your Glass (Optional: Iced Version)

If you’re making an iced matcha latte, fill a glass with ice cubes to chill your drink for a refreshing twist.

Step 5: Choose Your Milk

Pour about 200ml of (plant-based) milk into a cute glass. Oat milk is a popular choice because of its natural sweetness, but almond, soy, or regular dairy milk work just as well. If you prefer a creamier texture, froth your milk beforehand.

Step 6: Combine & Enjoy!

Now, gently pour your whisked matcha over the milk and watch the vibrant green swirl into the creamy base. Stir if needed, or leave it layered for that Instagram-worthy look. And just like that, you’ve learned how to make a matcha latte at home!
