Start with 1-2g of matcha powder in a bowl. Add a small amount of hot water (70-80°C) and whisk in a W motion until frothy. Add more water to taste. For lattes, whisk with a small amount of water first, then add your preferred milk.
Ceremonial grade matcha is made from the youngest tea leaves, offering a smoother, more delicate flavor perfect for drinking straight. Culinary grade uses slightly older leaves with a stronger flavor, ideal for lattes, smoothies, and baking.
For traditional tea: 1-2g (½ teaspoon). For usucha (thin tea): 2g with 70ml water. For koicha (thick tea): 4g with 40ml water. For lattes: 2-3g with 250ml milk. Adjust to your taste preference.
Matcha contains caffeine (about 25-35mg per gram), so we recommend avoiding it 4-6 hours before bedtime. However, the L-theanine in matcha promotes calm alertness, making the energy boost gentler than coffee.
